- Client – London Borough of Lewisham.
- Location – Turnham Primary School.
- Single Storey 5 No. Classroom facility with Hall and WC’s.
- Temporary Building hired for 52 weeks.
Turnham Primary School, in the London Borough of Lewisham, required a temporary school building to accommodate students whilst their existing school buildings are redeveloped. Module-AR Limited secured the project to provide 5 no. Classrooms with WC’s, a large 110m² open-plan Hall and Office for a period of 52 weeks. Our Off-Site cost-effective Construction methods were preferred to a traditional build due to the speed we can deliver high quality modular buildings to our clients.
The Off-Site construction was delivered and installed in just 2 days, during the school holidays, ensuring little to no disruption to the school or the surrounding area. The on time and on budget full Turnkey solution was completed in 12 weeks which is up to 50% faster than a traditional build and allows the teachers & students to benefit from the brilliant modular learning environment as soon as possible.
Externally the building features Plastisol (plastic coated steel) cladding & plinth and steel external doors for a robust & maintenance-free exterior. Internally the School building consists of 5 Classrooms of 60m² (each fitted with 16 Hat & Coat hooks, interactive whiteboards and projectors), a 110m² Hall, Office and WC’s.
Additional extras such as Heat & Cool air conditioning, Maglocks to corridor doors, acoustic door seals to all internal doors, a Roof Mansafe System, entrance door canopy, Lightning Protection System, internal window blinds, a 2.7m internal ceiling height and standalone fire alarm & intruder alarm systems were fitted to ensure the hire building looks and feels like a permanent solution.
Ms Shefali Seth, of the London Borough of Lewisham, commented that the advice, communication, facilitation, workforce, programme, value for money and overall performance were all of the highest standard and that she would recommend Module-AR again for similar work in the future.
