New passenger facility for busy Leeds Park & Ride

A brand new passenger facility was unveiled today at Elland Road Park and Ride, which was designed and installed by our expert team.

The 132m2 facility comprises of a fully heated waiting area, passenger toilets, baby-changing facilities and ticket machines.

Module-AR Designed and Manufactured all the components off-site, before installing it using a crane in just one day. Constructed from sustainable materials and clad with Perspex-backed brushed aluminium, this modular building exceeds all building regulations for thermal efficiency.

With over 700 cars parking at the Elland Road facility every weekday, Leeds City Council Leader Cllr Judith Blake said the new investment would encourage even more people to use the park and ride: “Our recent transport conversation survey shows the demand for more park and ride sites across the city is clearly there.

Cllr Blake continued: “The most popular method of public transport used in Leeds and across the Leeds City Region… bus services are central to our future transport strategy.”

West Yorkshire Combined Authority Transport Chair Cllr Keith Wakefield spoke of the many benefits of using off-site construction in a project like this: “The opening of this new passenger facility, ahead of schedule is just the latest benefit for people using the Elland Road Park and Ride to save themselves the cost and hassle of parking in Leeds city centre.”

He went on: “The new modular passenger facility is an impressive and smart building and manufacturing off-site has resulted in a range of benefits including quicker production times, assured quality, greater sustainability and reduced waste of materials.”
