Prince of Wales Primary School opened in 1950 and is situated in Enfield Lock, North East of the London Borough of Enfield. It is a larger than average 3 Form of Entry Primary School that benefits from extensive grounds including gardens, a pond, sports fields, playgrounds and environmental areas. Due to the growing need for additional space in the Education sector, Prince of Wales Primary School required an expansion to their existing facilities to accommodate extra pupils. Module-AR Limited secured the contract to design, manufacture and install 2 No. buildings – both of which were extensions to existing buildings.

Both structures feature Brickslip external cladding and plinths, pitched Kingspan roofs, PCA (plastic coated aluminium) external double glazed windows and doors and are Secured by Design & Building Bulletin Compliant. These features were chosen so that the new modular buildings match the existing traditional constructions.

The first school building is a 3 No. module Classroom facility featuring a 62m² Classroom (with interactive whiteboard and window blinds), an SEN/Nurture room and Lobby. The second building consists of 4 No. modules creating a large 81m² open-plan Hall. Both buildings feature internal window blinds, superior than standard 4kN/m² floor loading and Heat & Cool air conditioning. Heckmondwike Supacord carpet tiles were fitted in the classroom & office and Altro Unity vinyl flooring to the Hall & WC’s for a hard-wearing and durable finish.

The 2 buildings were manufactured in Module-AR Limited’s factory in East Yorkshire in under 8 weeks and just 2 days were required to deliver & install both school buildings. In total the project was completed in 15 weeks allowing the school to use the new facilities up to 50% faster than if the work was completed as a traditional, on-site, construction.
