Module-AR Limited were awarded the contract by Network Rail to deliver a full Turnkey solution including the design, construction, delivery, testing and commissioning of a new 17 No. module MDU (Maintenance Delivery Unit) Facility for Network Rail Swindon. The competitive contract was awarded to Module-AR due to our reputation for providing excellent customer service, our Achilles RISQS accreditation and our wealth of experience working with Network Rail.

The Swindon MDU features a large open plan Office of 221m², 3 No. Meeting rooms, an Interview room, PICOP room, Welfare facilities with Kitchen area, Drying room with 100 No. lockers, a dedicated Locker room, S&T room, Ultra Sonic room, Welders facility, IT room, Archive room, Shower room, Kitchen, a large Corridor and WC’s.

The exterior of the building features Plastisol (plastic coated steel) cladding, fascia and plinth for a hard-wearing, robust and secure finish. Multi point locking doors, with digital keypad entry, UPVC lockable windows with restrictors and 2 No. DDA Compliant entrance ramps were also included.

The interior was designed to meet the stringent Network Rail DNA specification. This helps to create a productive, colourful and creative working environment. Internally the MDU Facility features include Heat & Cool air conditioning, PIR lighting for improved sustainability, a combination of Marleyflor Plus Safety Vinyl & Interface Equilibrium carpet tiled flooring, standalone fire alarm & intruder alarm systems and a fully fitted Kitchen.

The full Turnkey solution was completed in just 12 weeks and only 5 days were required for Modular-AR Limited to deliver and install the Network Rail Swindon building. This quick project completion time is up to 50% faster than is the project was completed traditionally.
